I tried to go to the movies last night and I was absolutely shocked to find out that the 8:40 showing of Julie & Julia that I wanted to see was sold out. Instead I waited until this afternoon to watch it - in the process saving myself $4 - and was thoroughly impressed.
The movie comes at a good time for me. I'm 25 and I'm wondering where my life is going. I enjoy blogging, but I'm not sure what to write about in this space anymore. For this blog's entire existence I've written about everything, about my thoughts about relationships, movies, television and whatever else came to mind. It's been very unfocused.
In a way I think that's great, but in another... well I think this can be something more. I've certainly written more focused blogs before. I know how to write them. That's not the point. The point is that this blog does have a focus - me. This is where I go when I need to think about something about myself. Whether it's a quick piece of introspection or some longer dalliance about the whims of American Idol, this space is where I can go on the internet to get it all out.
I've been changing lately and I think this blog needs to change a bit with me. You'll start to see some shorter posts. Things I find on the internet and think, "Wow, isn't that cool." Or maybe it'll be a quick thought I have after reading a quote. I hope there will be more photography here as well.
I'm telling you, my readers - whomever the 30 to 50 of you may be - this now because I want to be held somewhat accountable for my actions. Please let me know what you think as this blog changes itself once again. And thanks for reading.
The other thing Julie & Julia made me want to do more of? Cook! Cooking for one is so boring, I hope I can find the time, roommates, etc. That will allow me to start cooking again in the near future. My other takeaway: A love built around meals is the best love possible. I think the movie should've emphasized this point even more. It's a great lesson for anyone to learn.
The picture is of Amy Adams at the premiere. She was quite brilliant.

Haha short blog posts, huh? Can I make fun of you now? :)
That movie made me want to blog... except I am in a similar situation to you, and I feel like I can only blog about myself. I guess we're all a little self-absorbed. But hey, people still like to read it!
I very much enjoyed the movie and it definitely made me want to cook.
