Birthday

I'm starting to forget what birthdays were like before Facebook, Twitter, G-chat and cell phones. It's pretty incredible who connected everyone is these days. Even some people I don't ever talk to wished me a happy birthday on Facebook today. I find it absolutely fascinating. Somehow my name appearing in a little box on the side of your screen suggests you should send me a message? (Not that I mind or anything.)

[Side note: I'd love to know everyone's process about how they decide to wish me happy birthday. Everyone picks a different medium. I had a few choices completely throw me for a loop. It's fascinating.]

I spent my birthday like most people spend their birthdays. I worked, interviewd and moved. Oh wait, that's not what most people do? I did have a carrot cake cupcake, and Chipotle - which for me is an excellent choice of birthday dinner. Still, it was a pretty low-key day.

I'm 25 now, but I don't really feel like it's a big change. Nothing drastic is happening in my life to make me feel oh-so-much older. I moved into a summer sublett tonight that takes me back to the time I lived in Forest Glen. Those were the days. I've once again got a big room in a house full of people. (Of course, instead of having a bunch of good friends in the house I'm living with complete strangers, but that's alright.)

Now that I'm sort of settled in, I feel like the summer can begin in earnest. This weekend I was absolutely amazed by the stunning fact that there was no homework to be done. (But this is a post in itself.) Still, I certainly could get used to it.

My birthday for me marks the end of another year and the official beginning - in my mind - of another summer. It should be a good time. Enjoy!

I should probably get more up to date on social media... Happy (belated) birthday.
