Rain Bubble

I can't stand rain, especially while walking to class in the morning. Rain is good in only one scenario, during a warm summer thunderstorm. In all other cases people should invest in rain bubbles. 

What are rain bubbles? Here is a rough sketch: 

That is me this morning in a rain bubble. (Yes, I did it in Paint.) I wish I had a rain bubble, instead I was stuck with a little blue umbrella. I have a long stride and everytime I stepped outside of the umbrella, my pants got wet.

With the rain bubble that would no longer be a problem. It is a piece of packed plastic the unfolds like an umbrella into a sphere. I envision the bubble as a piece of plastic that has a hinged door in the back. 

Once you got to your destination you could pack up the rain bubble much the same way you would pack up your umbrella. The advantage of the rain bubble is that no part of you would have to get wet! The plastic would repel all of the rain during your walk.

I imagine a city full of people traveling in rain bubbles on their way to work. Or children arriving at elementary school and packing away their rain bubbles. Rain bubbles could be marketed in all sizes! Also, the translucent plastic could be different colors. Everyone would want the bright blue rain bubble one year because it was the hip color and then bright red the next.

My guess is some enterprising company will eventually try and create the full body rain bubble. (Amazon is already selling an umbrella product with a similar name.) When the rain bubble arrives, I just want to say, "I thought of it first."
