Jamie Treadwell and The Script

I have to admit, I knew who Jamie Treadwell was before I found a link to his work on Facebook. What I did not know is that he has an EP out and he is an excellent piano, singer-songwriter.

My favorite song on the EP is "All Yours." Treadwell's voice tonality reminds me a lot of Clay Aiken, their music also has some sorts of the same pop vibe. Jamie's voice though has better clarity. "All Yours" combines the haunting words, with a rolling piano part and string accompaniment.

I also love the guitar solo in "Rewind."

Both Aiken and Treadwell sing about the same sort of topics that all male pop stars cover love, life and finding yourself. While maybe the material is not that original, the music is comforting and yet refreshing. It is worth checking out.

Also, I am posting this on Monday instead of my usual Tuesday because I want everyone to have the chance to download iTunes' free single of the week. It is "Before the Worst" and it is by The Script. Another piano heavy, UK band the song has great drive and the voice of lead singer Danny O'Donaghue is strong and vibrant. Download the song while it is free. You'll be glad you did.

After listening to some of their other songs I also really enjoyed "Talk You Down" and "The Man Who Can't Be Moved."

"Talk You Down" has much the same piano vibe as "Before the Worst," but its a fun rock tune.

As a note of full disclosure my other music purchase this week: "Angel" by Natasha Bedingfield. (You can't listen to great music all the time.)

Myspace is a great way to discover acts, and so is youtube. You should check out this link youtube.com/cirquelasvegas to learn about Criss Angel's new Vegas show where he teams up with Cirque Du Soleil...
